Overview
It was originally engaged in radio transmitting equipment assemble. In 1953, it adopted the business name Alto Broadcasting System (ABS) and started the country’s first television broadcast. In 1956, Chronicle Broadcasting Network (CBN), owned by Eugenio Lopez Sr. of the Lopez family, was organized primarily for radio broadcasting. In 1957, Don Eugenio Lopez Sr. acquired ABS and on February 1, 1967, the operations of ABS and CBN were integrated and BEC changed its corporate name to ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation.

TV and Studio
It mainly creates contents and distribute through TV and radio channel. It also includes content distribution in North America, Films and Music, Narrowcast and Sports.
Revenues per sub-segment in 2016 are Fee-to-Air (23,967M), Global (5,855M), Films and Music (1,316M), Others (857M).
Pay TV Networks
It is handled by Sky Cable Corporation (Sky Cable). It accounts for around 50% of local pay TV market.

New Business
It partnered with Globe Telecom to provide wireless telecommunications. It also invested in KidZania Manila theme park and also has an interest in home shopping businesses. KidZania generated 515M pesos in 2016.
