Overview
It is a subsidiary of CEMEX Asian South East Corporation (CASEC) and CASEC is a wholly-owned indirect subsidiary of CEMEX Espana, S.A. which is also a subsidiary of CEMEX, S.A.B. de C.V. of Mexico. CHI operates APO Cement Corp. (APO) and Solid Cement Corp. (Solid). Its brands are APO, Island and Rizal.
It has 4 marine distribution terminals and 18 land distribution centers. It uses a fleet which is managed by directly by its subsidiaries or by third-party providers. It leased 1,259 trucks, 26 ready-mix concrete mixer trucks and 63 marine vessels in 2016. It owns 2 marine vessels for bulk cement distribution.
Raw materials are delivered directly from the company’s production facilities which are located near the cement production plants. Both cement plants purchase power from third-party when its own generation plants’ cost is high. As of 2016, it uses imported coal to fire its kilns but it tries to mix other cheaper fuels such as rubber tires, waste plastics.
