Notes
1. Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala and Fernando Zobel de
Ayala are brothers.
2. Stiff competition is expected
● The
Philippines government wants the third telco player besides TEL and GLO.
● TransCo (country’s
power transmission asset owner) wants to join using their nationwide
fiber-optic infra.
3. Bought frequency band (700MHz) from SMC (San Miguel
Corp.) together with PLDT to improve speed and coverage. PCC (Philippines
Competition Committee) is still trying to tackle it but the Court held it
legal.
4. No issue with Foreign Ownership Limit because of the
more than 158 million voting-preferred shares owned by Filipino which is
excluded from above mentioned common shares percentage.
5. Related companies: AC and ALI, IMI, BPI, MWC, CHI,
